HAZARDOUS MATERIAL TRAINING

The purpose and objective s of “WHMIS” is to help reduce injuries and diseases by training employees working with or near Hazardous Materials in the Workplace. Training elements include Proper and Safe Use, Storage, Handling, Hazard Information & Identification System, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), WHMIS Legislation Requirements and Hazard Recognition for Prevention.

HAZARDOUS/CONTROLLED PRODUCT CLASSES CLASS “A” - Compressed Gas CLASS “B” - Flammable and Combustible Material CLASS “C” - Oxidizing Material CLASS “D” - Poisonous and Infectious Material CLASS “E” - Corrosive Material CLASS “F” - Dangerously Reactive Material

WHMIS TRAINING PROGRAMS WHMIS “INITIAL”
TRAINING PROGRAM
- DURATION: Varies from 2 to 8 hours

• For Personnel that have not received WHMIS training previously such as New employees
• Provides General Personnel with the knowledge and information required to perform their duties
  Safely
• COURSE CONTENT: Customized to your Site-Specific requirements
• Complies With, Meets and Exceeds WHMIS Legislation Requirements
• Workshop based Theory to develop Personnel “Skills” for the application of WHMIS Training
  On- the-Job
• Initial Training Required by WHMIS Legislation for Personnel “Competency”

  
  WHMIS “REFRESHER” TRAINING PROGRAM
  - DURATION: Varies from 1½ to 4 hours

• For individuals who have previously received WHMIS training
• Reinforces the need for the continued application of WHMIS Procedures, Requirements and Safety
• Compliance requirement under WHMIS legislation for personnel “Competency”.

  
  WHMIS “PRACTICAL” TRAINING PROGRAM
  - DURATION: Depending upon Group Sizes

• WHMIS Practical Training develops the “Hands-On Skills” of Personnel for Identifying Workplace
  Hazards and “Proper & Safe” use of your on-site hazardous materials and/or Controlled products
• Practical Training reinforces the WHMIS Theory Training, Rules, Regulations and Procedures
  to follow
• Personnel are Trained in your Work Environment, with your Products following your Workplace
  Procedures
• Practical Training is usually provided in small Groups or can be provided on a One-on-One basis
• Complies With WHMIS Legislation requirements for “Site-Specific” and “Performance-Based”
