PROPANE TRAINING & “COMPETENCY” REQUIREMENTS
Propane Training & Competency requirements apply to any/all Propane Cylinder Handling
and/or Filling/Dispensing applications including ALL types of Industrial, Construction and
Consumer Propane usage such as: Propane Powered Equipment (ie: Lift Trucks), Handling &
Changing Propane cylinders, Propane Heaters, Torches (Tiger), Brazing, Furnaces, Hand-Held
Appliances/Equipment, Cooking Grills, BBQ’s, Workplace Trailers, Roofing Equipment,
Tarring/ Asphalt Equipment, Filling Cylinders, Tanks and Vehicles, Dispensing of Propane
etc.

“ACCREDITED” TRAIN-the-TRAINER INSTRUCTOR PROGRAMS
DEVTRA “ACCREDITED” Propane Train-the-Trainer Instructor programs are available for
ALL Instructors required to deliver any Propane training and train personnel to Handle,
Change, Store, Inspect, Use, Fill/Dispense, Supervise or Manage Propane operations.

“ACCREDITED” PROPANE INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAMS

1. Cylinder Handling for Powered Equipment
   (ie: Industrial & Construction Equipment - Lift Trucks, Scissor/Personnel Lifts, Ice Surfacing etc.)
2. Cylinder Handling for Vapour Systems
   (ie: Industrial & Construction Cylinders - Heaters, Torches, Brazing, Hand-held Equip./Appliances,
   Asphalt, etc.)
3. Cylinder Handling for Liquid & Vapour Systems
   (Includes both Powered Equipment and Vapour Systems above)
4. Dispensing Propane for Filling Cylinders, Tanks, Vehicles and Auto Propane
   (ie: Industrial, Construction or Consumer applications of Filling all Cylinders, Tanks & Fleet
   & Consumer Vehicles)

INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM DURATION
Propane Train-the-Trainer Instructor programs are 1 Day for Experienced Instructors or 2
Days for Inexperienced Instructors. The program duration is also dependant upon the number
of Instructors to be trained, previous Instructor or Propane experience, and the site-specific
Propane use(s) and application.

TRAIN-the-TRAINER PROGRAM CONTENT
The Instructor program content will vary depending upon your site application and use of
Propane. The customized Propane content will allow your Instructors to deliver all of your
own site-specific Propane training requirements.

INSTRUCTOR & STUDENT TRAINING MATERIALS
DEVTRA Instructor & Student Training Materials are available for the Train-the-Trainer
programs depending upon your on-site equipment. Examples of available Instructor Propane
materials for use by your Instructors for training include: Leaders Materials, Student or
Personnel Training Workbooks, Certificates and Records of Training (RT), Exams, Overheads,
Legislation Requirements, Videos, etc.
